I’m Kentaro Sato, aged 33. I have a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Tokyo and 8+ years of experience as the CEO of Hakodate Real Estate. Since I was a child, I have been interested in foreign information and ways of thinking that I could not obtain only in Japanese.
Although I was born Japanese, I developed a perspective that allowed me to see Japan from the outside, and I eventually realized that this perspective would be useful in distributing information about Japan to the rest of the world.
Currently, our company is commissioned to produce content introducing the Japanese language and culture to the international market, especially the origins of Chinese characters.
Originally, the Japanese language did not have any written characters, but after Chinese characters were introduced from China, various efforts were made to use them to write Japanese. The same Chinese characters often have different meanings in Japanese and Chinese. My main interest is looking at the common foundations of Japan and China, and the unique developments of each, from the perspective of Chinese characters.
